"An interesting film on a less than satisfactory DVD," that's the gist of it. Although, based on the screenshots over @ DVDBeaver, it seems to look better than the only other English-friendly release by Facets' franchise PolArt (IMHO, to look worse than Facets would probably require more effort than what SPI put into this), it's far from being perfect. The picture is riddled with dirt, scratches & white speckles (much more than what our gallery reveals), and cue blips & the more exciting kind of print damage are also a plenty:

The aggressive soundtrack, which - BTW - I liked a lot, got its share of hiss & crackle as well. Still, I'm pretty sure this is currently the best English-friendly presentation of the film, and unless the likes of Mondo Vision come with a better one, I'll be glad to hold on to it for repeated viewing... *difference between channels is -49.43 dB (0.34 %) |
