This is a case similar to Kinowelt's "Der Rächer," where the main feature is also presented in more-or-less full-frame ratio, while the trailer is widescreen. Moreover, here we're given the English version of the film (in colour AND widescreen) as an extra, and its framing actually matches that of the trailer:

My conclusion - the German version's framing is not correct. On top of that, it's got encoding problems too (mind you, the English version is even worse off):

What else is there to be said? It'd have been a great package, if at least the English version had a proper PAL transfer. That + having the (longer - see the examples of additional footage below) German version in widescreen would have been superb! Unfortunately, Kinowelt fails to deliver either...
