Contrast-boosted a little, cleaned up some - Malavida's picture looks a little better than Filmexport's. To complete the overview of existing versions, the screenshots below match the ones in DVDBeaver's review of the UK edition by Second Run:

Based solely on the screencaps, I'd place Second Run second ;-) - after Malavida. It seems a little "waxy" to me in comparison, but Beaver's screencapturing method isn't the same as ours, so take this with a pinch of salt.

Also, I'd like to set this statement of theirs straight:

It [the Second Run DVD] is not without visual issues with unexpected blown-out brightness... Still this can most likely be blamed on the available source not the transfer.

This is what Miroslav Ondříček said [in the featurette on the Czech release] RE the blown-out brightness:

(Note his speech was not very coherent - I tried to translate it as well as I could.)

...Jaroušek [Jaroslav Kučera] took it [the job] and came up with a beautiful... that "viráž" [normally the process of colour-tinting black and white material - not sure what exactly he meant by that here] it's got, that structure... the nature of the image was determined by... I mean... keep in mind that at the time there was no magnetic recording, let alone... a camcorder, and the sound was recorded optically... and in order to obtain that optical track that ran... on the edge of the film track, I mean film print, its contrast had to be very high... and, in this developer used for developing that optical... the sound tracks, we developed that NP7... which was... Orwo, East German... which was very soft, and that's how it got that character... like that of... that period. I think it was a brilliant idea of Jaroušek's... beautiful...

Oh, one more thing I wanted to mention - Malavida zoomed the picture in "here and there" (see e.g. frame 20306), resulting in slight cropping...

*it says "DVD9" on the cover, but it's a mistake
**difference between channels is -80.45 dB (0.01 %)
