Notes:
First, let me tell you, this new version leaves no doubt about how horribly wrong the Image's framing is (hint: notice the tops of people's heads missing ;-)). As hinted at by a fellow member over @ CriterionForum.org, "Ekstase" seems to have been composed for an AR of 1.19:1, which is more-or-less the case here. Now, regarding the overall DVD package, "Ekstase" is actually an "ekstra" ;-) accompanying the (feature-length) "Hedy Lamarr: Secrets of a Hollywood Star" documentary. To tell you the truth, I haven't seen the docu yet, and I don't plan to in the near future - I was only interested in Machatý's film, so for an exhaustive review of this package, you have to search elsewhere...

Notes:
A couple of bucks down the drain - what else can I say? According to the info on the cover:

the material compiled on this DVD has been newly restored & digitally remastered, however, in comparison with the older Image release, Vella Vision's effort is nothing short of utter repugnance! Blurry, severely cropped, with the Spanish subtitles burnt in an extensive grey bar superimposed over the burnt-in English subtitles (the film's stored on the disc in two video title sets, identical but for the subtitles - mouse over the sample image to switch between the two sets):

What kind of collectors is this loathsome "Edición del Coleccionista" meant for remains a mystery to me...

Notes:
The Czech release of "Extase" was originally slated for 2006 already, but didn't materialize until 2017 - that's almost as long as Boyhood took to make! The NFA spent the time cleaning the film up meticulously frame by frame... I'm kidding, of course - compared to the 2008 (!) Austrian DVD, their master looks really atrocious!
Still, at least now I have the means of showing the differences between "Extase" & "Ekstase" (note that the "Comparison..." featurette only mentions a few of these); firstly, a couple of scenes that are present in both versions, but they're using alternative takes, e.g. the car drive sequence (see frame 81554 in our gallery), or a couple of instances where on-screen text is present, like this one (+ frame 14243 in the gallery):

National Film Archive (frame 6555)film & kunst (frame 6740)

Interestingly enough, the "Comparison..." featurette does include the Austrian variant of the next scene, played by a different pair of actors, but it's missing on the f & k DVD:

National Film Archive (frame 35776)

The rest are sequences present in only one of the versions; the Austrian cut, perhaps unsurprisingly, shows more of Hedy's naughty bits ;-), while in the Czech one, there are more scenes of the agricultural persuasion, frolicking horses, and proletariat at work...
