Where to start...? Framing; while eagerly awaiting the arrival of the parcel from Italy, I've stumbled upon a thread over @ Classic Horror Film Board, where the guys were (amongst other things) discussing the framing problem the US Dark Sky Films release of "Blood of the Vampire" has, i.e. it's severely zoomed-in. One of the board members - TServo4 - posted some scans from one of the film's reels, while other - Jeffrey Allen Rydell - posted a couple of captures from the Dark Sky DVD. I took the liberty to borrow those for comparison purposes, and - as you can see below - Noshame did a much better job than DSF (mouse over the image to see the DSF frame, scaled down to copy Noshame's as closely as possible (note the AR was not kept)):

The following is the corresponding reel scan, where you can see the "ideal" 1.66:1 (red) & 1.85:1 (cyan) framing, Noshame's still a little zoomed-in 1.63:1 framing (green), and - finally - Dark Sky's severely cropped & zoomed approx. 1.78:1 (magenta):

And one more - this time w/o a reel scan. Here, I had to scale the Dark Sky's frame up, which - together with its 4:3-ish ;-) AR - leads me to a conclusion that Dark Sky's opening title sequence does not come from the same print as the rest of the film:

OK, so much for framing. Quality-wise, based on those 3 frames only, I cannot fairly decide which version is the best, but my glazed eyes lean to Dark Sky's. (c:

Integrity though, that's a different matter, at least if Noshame's cover boasting "Versione integrale per la prima volta in DVD" is to be trusted. That is, there's no question Noshame's print incorporates approx. 2 minutes of footage apparently coming from a couple of different - greatly inferior - sources (see the examples below), it's just that I'm not sure the footage is really missing in all the other editions (DSF, a UK edition & a German one)...
