First of all, a comparison of this edition with the one by MGM (UK) (more details @ DVD.Reviewer.co.uk, where I took the liberty to "borrow" the screencaps from):

To my eyes, the UK edition's picture seems to be a tad less sharp, and the colours oversaturated (orangey skin tones being but one manifestation), but that might be down to the screenshooting technique DVD Reviewer uses, because I noticed the same when comparing "El Chucho, quien sabe?" by KOCH Media (Germany) against their screencaps...

RE the framing; it's virtually identical most of the time but near the end of the film, where the Japanese disc's picture has been severely zoomed-in!
