Notes:

This here second release of "Die Farbe" was supposed to fix the problem (some) people in the NTSC lands had with the "PAL" (720p50) format the original disc was encoded in. Me having a multi-sync TV, I can play both versions flawlessly, but - for what it's worth - the re-release is 720p60, so it should play fine for everyone.

The PAL/NTSC thingy aside, there are but a couple of differences I'd like to point out:

the new encode has even lower bitrate than the previous one, and that was already not that great to start with as evidenced by the heavy banding in some scenes:

a "ghost" frame (one of the actors appearing at the beginning of a scene for just a single frame) has been removed:

finally, moving on to the outward appearance, the packaging changed from digipak to a regular Blu-ray case

One more thing I'd like to mention is the fact that - according to one of the featurettes - these guys built their own HD camera, and I must say that the film's moody B & W cinematography looks really stunning!
However, it wouldn't be me if I didn't always find something to complain about, and here it's a kind of horizontal "streaks" that appear (in both versions) in the darker night-time sequences:
