This is a recording from ČT1 HD's digital satellite broadcast. Its purpose here is to provide a kind of reference for the DVD releases reviewed above & below.

Note this wasn't a native HD broadcast, but rather an upscaled version of ČT1's standard definition programme. AFAIK, from the good old Czechoslovak stuff, only the 1968/69 "CSI prequel" ;-) "Hříšní lidé města pražského" (the series, made for TV, but shot on 35 mm) had an HD transfer made (made, but not restored in any way - see here)...

Where to start... Firstly, let's take only the three DVDs into consideration; then we can dismiss the Japanese edition outright for not respecting the OAR, and also the previous Czech release as I find it kind of... oversaturated. KZM appears to be the best of the bunch, doesn't it? If the Japanese DVD was not cropped however, I think I'd go with that instead - the Museum's new transfer, colour-corrected though it may be [or so I assume], looks rather dull...
     The extras are, similarly to "Karel Zeman Film Club" title #4, just a compilation of clips / text from the first 3 DVDs - it's a pity nothing pertaining to this particular film could be found.
