Notes:
There's nothing I can say about this DVD, that hasn't already been mentioned in Michael Mackenzie's review over at DVDTimes. Nevertheless, let me show you a few examples of the issues he points out. First, the interlaced / non-anamorphic transfer of the feature presentation vs. the progressive / anamorphic trailer (note that the latter uses a different shot for every scene, which makes a direct comparison impossible):

26539 / 1590 | 42623 / 2082 | 55140 / 5775 | 57451 / 2261

Imagica Entertainment / King Records (frame 26539)

Regarding the extra shots in the trailer - an issue I myself fussed about in the review of "Der Rächer" - I think this might be a common practice, and does not necessarily mean the film is cut:

2126 | 3622

Imagica Entertainment / King Records / Trailer (frame 2126)

About the framing, it seems indeed a bit tight. Michael suggests that the film might have originally been exhibited in a wider aspect ratio. On the other hand, the cramped head-space (particularly visible when compared with the below bootleg DVD+R release framed at 1.71:1) suggests that the intended ratio was perhaps closer to 1.66:1, an AR not uncommon for the gialli from that period:

13176 / 10818 | 61122 / 50805

Imagica Entertainment / King Records (frame 13176)

And now, to conclude this review, here's a lil'something for my friend tomiisek, a great admirer of Jean-Louis Trintignant: ;-)

Notes:
Cut, cut, CUT! No, I'm not pretending to be a director - I'm just describing this release, it being cut by approx. 1m 43s. The cuts remove most of the gooshy stuff (mouse over the examples [Imagica / King Records] to switch between them - requires JavaScript):

Imagica / King Records (frame 9498)
Imagica / King Records (frame 89663)
Imagica / King Records (frame 114406)

That alone makes this a wasted opportunity, so I'm not going to bother complaining about the PQ or - THE showstopper for many - lack of English subtitles/dub...
