Quite surprisingly for a film released in '05, the print frequently displays slight damage:

Ahhhhh, why do these things still happen in this day and age...? A newly restored master (in 2K, from the interpositive), and they (Athanor?) use some kind of crappy resizer to downscale it to DVD resolution - aliasing & moiré reign... ;-( Here's a sample frame from UPP's promotional video clip ["Jan Švankmajer's Movies Restoration;" UPP - the guys responsible (in a good way ;-)) for this - restored all his feature films + some of the shorts] vs. the same frame from this and the older DVDs - note especially the stripes on the pyjamas of the man on the right:

So much for my initial joy of seeing the movie in its OAR...

Argh! Money well spent, this DVD; I hoped I'd get a better encode of the new "Lunacy" restoration, but - with the exception of Video Title Set 11 containing the trailers, which is a slightly larger encode with different colorimetry (see below) - this is exactly the same disc as the one available in the Czech "The Films of Jan Švankmajer" collection... ;-(

This Blu-ray collection was one of the perks for the supporters of Švankmajer's Indiegogo campaign intended for co-financing his ultimate film, "Hmyz" ("Insect"), and it's not commercially available at the time of this writing.
