Unlike "Everything I Love," where the Uplink release had been my champion [the burnt-in Japanese subtitles notwithstanding] until the SFI Blu-ray came along, here it's easily the worst-looking one of the bunch - the transfer is so murky you literally can't see anything in some scenes. In contrast, the Magic Box DVD - bottom of the barrel in that comparison - would be my #1 choice for "The Garden," if only the transfer was 16:9 enhanced; as it's not, the Dutch release gets the imaginary gold medal in that area, even though colour-wise I find the Magic Box a little more... magical. ;-) Unfortunately, the soundtrack on the Contact Film offering is rather on the hissy side, so I cannot in good conscience give thumbs up to either of these.
